Bangladesh is quietly making moves in the semiconductor indu
Against the backdrop of a complex global situation and increasingly fierce technological competition, Bangladesh is quietly laying out its semiconductor industry.

Recently, media reports have indicated that the Bangladesh National Semiconductor Working Group has developed a roadmap to unlock the country's semiconductor potential, with key areas including skills development, business environment and policy support, as well as global connections.

The roadmap shows that Bangladesh hopes to build a skilled team for chip design and testing through training programs and high-tech laboratories, among other means.

In addition, Bangladesh is seeking to cooperate with semiconductor powerhouses such as South Korea, Malaysia and the United States to integrate into the global supply chain.

The National Semiconductor Working Group of Bangladesh stated that countries such as Malaysia are currently facing a shortage of skilled chip designers, which is a potential partner and market for Bangladesh in the field of talent.

The industry points out that Bangladesh's layout in the semiconductor industry is a dual game of opportunities and challenges: opportunities include changes in the international situation, demographic dividends and policy benefits, etc. The challenges include technological shortcomings, incomplete infrastructure, power supply shortages, and in terms of international competition, countries like Vietnam and India are also developing their semiconductor industries and have introduced relatively generous investment policies, which may lead to the diversion of capital.

However, Bangladesh's chip layout has only just fired its first shot, and its future performance remains to be seen.
